The new vision of the Museum as a creative and dynamic space has students at the centre of everything we do. This special O-Week opening of the Museum offers an opportunity to explore a variety of additional collection objects in depth, with a sneak peek into the archives facilitated by our Academic Engagement team.
O-Week at the Grainger also features an interactive and immersive audio-visual installation,The Space is the Instrument, by our 2022 Student Composer in Residence, Patrick Hartono. This work aims to challenge the traditional concept of space as just a passive environment, instead transforming it into a musical instrument by using the spatial location of visitors as the primary means of interaction to generate melody.
