Visitors experience the Grainger after dark at Nite Art

On 27 July 2017, the Grainger was animated for Nite Art 2017, a celebration of people, art and the night in Melbourne.

In a series of specially commissioned performances throughout the evening, guest curated by Liquid Architecture, Percy Grainger’s recently rebuilt free music ‘machines’ where utilised by a group of artists and musicians to offer their own multifaceted readings of Grainger’s ‘freedom’, inviting the audience to consider what the term might signify today.
