New Appointment for the Grainger Museum
After a significant search, a new Curator, Exhibitions and Collections has been appointed to the Grainger Museum
We are very pleased to announce that Dr Heather Gaunt will be joining us in this role, commencing on Wednesday 1 February 2017.
Heather may be well known to some of our visitors from her current role as the Curator of Academic Programs (Research) at the Ian Potter Museum of Art at the University of Melbourne. Immediately prior to working in this role Heather worked as a Collection Manager, Access, Indigenous Cultures at Museums Victoria and prior to that as Curator Collection Management at the Ian Potter Museum of Art. She has also worked as an independent Art Curator and Historian, and counts a Bachelor of Music and PhD in History among her many qualifications. This range of qualifications and experience is an ideal fit for the broad responsibility inherent in the complex role at the Grainger Museum. While Heather’s academic engagement background will be of great value she is keen to get back to working with collections and organising exhibitions.
We welcome Heather to the Grainger Museum and look forward to working closely with her in the future.
