Become part of the Grainger Museum Volunteers Program
Are you interested in music, art, culture and history? Would you like to be part of a unique cultural institution and have the chance to engage with the University of Melbourne community?
This new initiative is designed to offer a diverse range of people the opportunity to closely engage with the Grainger Museum and the University of Melbourne. Volunteers will become a valued part of the Grainger Museum, helping to educate visitors on the Museum and its permanent and temporary exhibitions and enhance its programs and events. Volunteers will be able to work closely with the Grainger Museum and its fascinating collection, including artworks, instruments, textiles, and music manuscripts, to learn new skills and share knowledge.
How to Become a Volunteer
The Grainger Museum undertakes recruitment in specified periods during the year.
Recruitment is now open for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering at the Grainger Museum, please read the volunteer position description for further information.
The process for applying to become a volunteer is as follows:
- People interested in volunteering should submit an application online. Volunteers who have not registered before will need to do so before applying. The application asks for information regarding your interests, skills, reasons for applying to be a volunteer and availability.
- Selected applicants will then be invited to attend an information session at the Grainger Museum. This session allows volunteers to find out more about the program and have an informal interview with member of staff.
- Following the information session, successful applicants will be invited to a training and induction session and to commence as a volunteer at the Grainger Museum.
Please note, all successful applicants are required to undergo a police check upon acceptance into the program.
Unfortunately not all applications will be successful due to the limited places available in the program.
If you have an enquiries about the becoming a volunteer, please contact Jessica Black, Grainger Museum Coordinator on 03 8344 7622 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
